How can I fix my sewing machine?

I have a singer sewing machine that the needle is out of alignment. No clue how it happened. It is currently set off to the right of center (even though all the dials are set to straight stitch & 0 width). When you set it to zig zag, the needle goes further to the right and is then set to go down where there is no hole. Is it possible to realign the needle by myself??
